Battery Research Intern, Laboratoire de Réactivité et Chimie des Solides (LRCS), Amiens, France | 02/2024 - 07/2024
Topic: Toward the fabrication of a Fluoride based All-Solid-State Battery working at room temperature.
Battery Materials Development: Synthesized different solid electrolytes (different compositions of CsPb1-xKxF3-x, BaSnF4, and PbSnF4) using mainly solid-state reactions in an inert atmosphere (Argon-filled glovebox) to achieve the reported magnitude of ionic conductivities.
Battery Electrode Development and Cell Assembly: Synthesized electrode composites, cathode (PbF₂, BaSnF₄, VGCF) and anode (LaScSi, BaSnF₄) composites, that were used to assemble full asymmetrical ASSFIBs.
Material Characterization and Data Analysis: Characterized the solid electrolytes using techniques such as XRD, SEM, EIS, and TGA, and 100 % pure tetragonal BaSnF₄ was observed from the XRD pattern, while reaching ionic conductivity of 10⁻⁴ S/cm at 25°C.
Battery Fabrication: Fabricated the All-Solid-State Fluoride-ion Batteries (ASSFIBs) using spark plasma sintering technique to improve ionic conductivity.
Battery Testing: Cycled the full cell (PbF₂|BaSnF₄|LaScSi) using Galvanostatic Intermittent Titration Technique (GITT) where 32 % of theoretical capacity was reached upon the first cycle, showing the operation of a room temperature all-solid-state rechargeable fluoride-ion battery was demonstrated.
Safety: Completed training courses from CNRS on Neo platform in Prevention, Chemical risk, and Fire Risk.
Presentation and Technical Writing: Delivered regular presentations on the research findings and authored a comprehensive thesis summarizing results and methodologies
